Josephine Sarah Warner- Banner

In Memory of

Josephine Sarah Warner

Josephine Sarah Warner, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, was born on July 5, 1937, in Atlantic City, New Jersey, to Alfred and Mary (née McCulloch) Freem.

Josephine spent her childhood in Newark, East Orange, and Belleville, New Jersey, and graduated from Our Lady of the Valley High School in 1955. A woman of strong faith, she carried her Catholic values with her throughout her life. She dedicated herself to her family, education and service, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from William Paterson University and a master’s degree in psychology from Rutgers University. Josephine worked as a vocational rehabilitation specialist with Prudential Insurance Company, where her work reflected her belief in the dignity, worth, and potential of every person.

Her faith was lived quietly but deeply, guiding her compassion, generosity, and commitment to helping others. She found strength in prayer and comfort in the traditions of the Church. These values shaped not only her professional life, but also the way she loved and cared for family and friends.

Josephine had a passion for travel and enjoyed journeys throughout the United States and Europe. Born at the beach, she ensured her family spent part of every summer at the Jersey Shore. Joyful and spirited, she could always be found on the dance floor when music played. A loyal friend and thoughtful listener, she was known for offering wisdom, encouragement, and understanding.

She was the devoted mother of four sons—John, James, Joseph, and Jeffrey—and took immense pride in her family. Her greatest joy was time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, whom she loved unconditionally and prayed for often.
