In Celebration of
Mary Elizabeth Lang
Mary’s life was a vibrant masterpiece, intricately woven with threads of profound family devotion, the serene joy of cultivating her garden, and the refreshing rhythm of her daily strolls through the neighborhood. To all who knew her, she was a beloved figure, a true matriarch who extended her maternal warmth and wisdom to countless children, offering them a safe harbor and gentle guidance. Her spirit radiated kindness, making her a beacon in the community.
Tragically, this radiant existence was cruelly overshadowed and eventually stolen by the relentless progression of Alzheimer’s disease. What began as subtle whispers of forgetfulness soon escalated into a torrent that eroded her vibrant personality and stripped away the very essence of who she was. The illness insidiously dismantled her ability to engage with the world she so dearly cherished, cruelly severing her connection to her passions and loved ones. It was an agonizing fate, as she was robbed at an age when she still had so much life to live, so many dreams to pursue, and so much joy left to experience. Her potential for fulfillment and her aspirations for a vibrant future were tragically curtailed, leaving a void that words can barely express.

Dear Kimberly and Matt,
I got to know your mom when she visited New York City with my best friend and her sister, Cathy. She would play with my grandson in the hallway of my building in NYC after watching movies like Mama Mia. We would walk around New York City, go to different restaurants and always end up getting ice cream. My heart and prayers go out to you and your family. Mary was a sweet and beautiful soul. She will be missed by all who knew her.
